At Parkglen, we strive to make sure you are looked after in the best possible way through available medical services, transportation options and extra care services. We offer extra care services to all our residents at Parkglen retirement living.

Medical practices

We have regular doctors from Parkmore Medical Centre, a pharmacy delivery service and a podiatrist on-site – all appointments can be booked and scripts dropped at reception.

Doctors

A doctor from the nearby Parkmore Medical Centre visits the Community Centre twice per week. You are able to make an appointment at the front reception. The doctor’s room is located in the main foyer.

Pharmacy

O’Brien’s Pharmacy are able to collect, dispense and deliver your prescription back to you at Parkglen directly. Service is available Monday to Friday. Please not that all Parkglen residents are offered 10% off all items (excluding prescription drugs).

Podiatrist

A podiatrist is in attendance around once per week. Appointments can be made at front reception.

Physiotherapy, Audiology, and Optometry

Our physiotherapist can arrive upon request, additionally we have weekly physiotherapy exercise classes available. An optometrist and Audiologist visit twice each year. For all appointments, please ask the reception.

Transportation

Parkglen is excellently located with bus services outside, travelling frequently to railway stations and shopping centres services. We also provide a Community bus making frequent trips to all the shopping centres locally. Taxis can be called by reception and come right to the front door where you can wait inside in comfort, or call one directly to your home.

Public Transport

Bus services: Ventura bus passes the front entrance of the village, stopping when required at the bus shelters. The service travels to the Dandenong Railway Station via Parkmore Shopping Centre, and also to Cheltenham Station and Southland via Dingley Village.

Community Bus

Our Community Bus makes the following regular trips:

• Tuesday Parkmore Shopping Centre Leaves 9.15am / returns 11.30am
• Friday Parkmore & Keysborough South Shopping Centres Leaves 9.45am / returns 11.30am

Extra Care Services

These services can be purchased privately at a set fee to all residents, and should be booked through the Parkglen Retirement Community office during business hours.

• Shower assistance
• Bed making (daily)
• Washing
• Meals (in the dining room or by tray)
• Cleaning
• Gardening

We also offer these extra care services in your home if you require.
