June’s Story

June’s Story

A bit of background

June has 2 children, 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren and is known as ‘GG’ in her family.  She was born in South Australia and worked as a Purchasing Officer.  She enjoys doing things for the community and is passionate about what happens with her age group and supports whenever she can.  She has played golf for 30 years.  Her motto in life is “Life is not dull – it’s what you make of it.”

Her Parkglen story

She has lived at Parkglen for 13 years.  Before moving into Parkglen, June did lots of research to find somewhere that she wanted to move into.  She had no problems settling in and could make changes to her unit and garden to make it her own.  She uses the Community Centre and helps out with the Crazy Whist group.  She was also the President of the Social Resident Representative Committee for 10 years.  She describes Parkglen as ‘a little like home.’

“Parkglen helps me live confidently by allowing me to live with confidence.  If anything goes wrong, I can go to someone here to get help.  This place was built years ago with the resident’s comfort in mind and the concept still works today.  The green areas are not imposed on which I like.  It makes me feel comfortable and confident living here.”
